Anxiousmeter (2021)
Photography and Performance

Anxiousmeter documents the intimate act of nail-biting during the COVID-19 lockdown, translating a compulsive habit into a visual narrative of mental health. The photographic series unfolds like a calendar or clock, marking time through the accumulation of nails collected in moments of anxiety. The inclusion of an empty pill blister pack, progressively filled with these remnants, symbolizes a remedy turned ritual—a poignant reflection on the cycles of addiction and self-soothing.

This work explores the delicate intersection of vulnerability and resilience, drawing attention to the anthropophagic nature of coping mechanisms. It serves as a meditation on the intricate balance between destruction and healing during a period of global uncertainty.
